We're playing the Residence Gallery in Long Beach on Apr. 30th and I was just checking out their past exhibits and noticed there was some Marilyn Minter up in there. I remember seeing this video of hers at the MoMA in NYC. The gold glitter is my favorite. (sorry for more mouth stuff, it's not on purpose) I love her and her fashion photography is so bomb too.

I also love my Grandpa! Here he is on his bike! All of his daughters and granddaughters have gotten to have this bike to ride also.

road trip

Devin & I took a road trip up to see my cousin the day after Christmas. She lives in Fremont, CA, which is quite pretty with lots of hills. Charlie Chaplin filmed several movies there in Niles, Fremont in the early 1900s. You can do lots of antique shopping there, and it's all surrounded by nice hills with cows and such. We went up to San Francisco, and Berkeley. But, we didn't see too much this time because we only had 3 days. I love park hoppin' in SF. and eating the food. oh man. Hopefully we can make a trip up to Santa Cruz and Portland to see some friends this spring break.

Jean-Louis Swiners was a renowned European photojournalist. I can't find much on him, but I did find that he did one essay titled, "Paris As Seen By A Dog". All of the shots are taken looking up from the ground. Such as this one:

I got this broiler that belonged to this woman named Lilian Koslover. (friend of the family).

I tried to use it last night but it doesn't work/smells like old matzoh balls from the '60s, aka the worst jew food smell of your life. It's getting thrown out. Look what it does:
